Tutorial Thursday - Rustic Coffee Jar Vase - Spring Edition.

Hello lovely people, sorry to be springing another Tutorial on you this week! I have a few 'Spring is in the Air' themed ones to share with you this month, so I thought I would post this one, as it is a perfect vessel to display all the sunny daffodils that are in bloom at the moment!

You will need:

An empty, tall, clean coffee jar,
Garden twine,
Piece of Hessian / Jute / Burlap,
Hot Glue and Gun,
Yellow Ribbon,
Yellow Buttons.

Step 1:

Take your empty jar and run a few lines of hot glue around the top, start to rustically wrap your twine around the jar...

(Don't worry if you can't get the label off as you will be covering it.)

...run more lines of glue and start to wrap the main part of the jar, you can wrap more uniformly now to give a neater coverage...

Step 2:

Take a piece of hessian / jute / burlap and cut it to fit around your jar - glue it on at the back...

Step 3:

Take a piece of yellow ribbon and wrap around the top of the jar and tie in a knot...

...make 2 'bunny ears' out of the pieces of ribbon and tie and pull through to make a bow...

...Cut the ends on an angle and heat seal with a flame (mind fingers!)

Step 4:

Lay your jar on its back and place your yellow buttons on the front of the jar in a heart shape, (or whatever takes your fancy), have a little play around with the shape before gluing them down...

Step 5:

Fill with water and Daffodils and enjoy!

VoilĂ  a pretty, rustic, spring vase! You could also make versions to compliment a variety of different seasonal blooms - have fun and see what you create!

Take care all!

xx
