Remember the Lego ear-rings I made?...
...Well, this is the convo I had with my boy...
Me - "What d'you think of these son?"
Son -"'They're cool mum - where did you get them?"
Me (proudly) - "I made them!"
Son - "Um, where did you get the blocks?"
Me (rather sheepishly) - "Well, I borrowed them from your box"
Son (thinks for a moment) - "That's OK mum, you can have them cos I like you!"
Awww, bless him! He doesn't know about the necklace yet tho ;)
Shhh!
I have also been busy making my daughter's tutu to wear at the party...
...following my own tutorial;), I cut the net fabric into strips and as I wanted it to be really full I tied the strips on 2 at a time...
...and the result is a really full, fab, colourful tutu! Needs a little bit of tweaking and trimming and maybe I'll add a few colourful ribbons but I'm really pleased with it! I went with mainly yellow as that will be the colour of her top, with a few red and blue strips too so that it ties in with her brother's t-shirt colours...
For the tops I plan to purchase an iron-on Lego face for my daughter's top and then for the boys they will have a large '2' and a large '6' on with their names on the back. I have downloaded a Lego-style font which I will use to create iron-on numbers and names...
Iron-on Lego face - so fun!
I also made a cuff bracelet out of the jersey fabric rosettes I made in the matching colours. Think I will make a few more larger ones to embellish my top and maybe make some for hairslides too!
Here is a close-up of the 'Save the date' cards I created using the Lego Font, inviting guests to 'Build memories with us'. My mum laminated them for me and I attached a little hang tag to them...
...and my final little make to show you is a number '2' made out of Lego blocks...
hmmm, just need to make a number '6' now!
I am currently working on the 'Double Initial Ribbon Wreath' for the door, I will post a tute on that nearer party-day!
Hope you enjoyed those Lego .V. Mega Bloks makes and if anyone is pinterested, then you can also check out my board!

LOL about what you son said to you - boys are generous with their lego blogs - my 8 year old nephew donated a couple of bricks to me so I could play about with them on journal type pages.
ReplyDeleteAll your makes look fab - love the tutu and so great that you have all the colours matching too. Love the invites, especially the play on words 'build' - and the jersey fabric rosettes too.
I've signed up for Pintrest, but haven't done anything else with it yet! I'll go and take a look at yours now.
Thank you all for your fab comments! x
ReplyDeleteHow cute is your little guy! Sharing his legos!

Loving the lego jewellery - might have to see what bricks the teenagers have left lurking in their rooms :)
ReplyDeleteHello swap partner - I shall have a good read of your blog and then email you soon so we can discuss likes/dislikes etc etc
Love this. This is definitely one my boys would really like so may have to do a lego theme for them. Was hoping to pay a visit to legoland for my eldest's birthday this year but if that doesn't work out this will be fab to create at home :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your fabulous lego makes. Very sweet that your son let you use his lego pieces to make your lego design necklace and ear-rings.
DeleteWill have to have a go with the tutorial for a tu-tu my daughter would love one of these x
Have a lovely weekend.
